The Battle of East-Loren - Turn 9

Dwarf - Turn 9

On the Dwarf right flank, the Norse Dwarf warriors descend down the hill to engage the Elven Lords.

During the shooting phase, the bolt thrower aims at the glade runners but miss them. The skirmishing crossbowmen cause one wound to the war eagle rid by Sirwing Feathermoon.

On the left flank, Skrag is still surrounded by the warrior kinbands. Annoyed by these many frail insects, the mighty Ogre leader angrily kills three of them. But is hit in return in the back and sustains one wound.

A few steps away, deprived of their leader, the Dragon Company warriors are no match for Valmor Longstride and Filendil Ravencrest: two of them (Borri Forkbeard, the unit champion, and the standard bearer) are killed by the falconer hero and one is killed by the wardancer hero.

The Ironbreakers also miss their boss: two more casualties in their ranks caused by the mounted Elven heroes.

And finally, Burlok "The Wise" kills two glade runners with a Fireball. The Grand Banner of Karak Norn also aims at the same unit but its Lightning Bolt causes no damage.

Wood Elf - Turn 9

On the Elf right flank, the beastpack (boars and wild cats) led by Tauron Boarskin still thirst for blood and charge the Dwarf clansmen.

The Wood Elf shooting phase is quite productive. The glade runners and the guards cause four losses in the skirmishing crossbowman unit, causing it to test for panic. But the cold--blooded Dwarfs stand firm.

From the back of his war eagle, Sirwing Feathermoon lands an arrow on the last crewman of the stone thrower, killing him instantly and silencing the war machine definitely.

The archers then shoot at the Bugman's unit and kill all of them but Josef Bugman himself:

The Elf combat phase is quite good too. The falconer hero and the wardancer hero kill (again) three of the Dragon's Company warriors without sustaining wounds. Despite this slaughter, the Dwarfs hold their ground.

And Skrag The Slaughterer - already badly injured - sustains a last and deadly wound from one of the unit's warrior kinbands! The living legend falls heavily on the ground and dies... killed by a simple trooper.

The beastpack is now fighting against the clansmen. None of the beasts is able to wound the tough Dwarf warriors. In return, the clansmen - led by Yadri Hadrinson - kill three boars!

The clansmen have never disappointed me. They always hold their ground and often win against tougher opponents (theoretically) than them. I love this unit.

And finally, the Elven lords win a new round against the ironbreakers, pushing them inexorably towards the battlefield edge. The Dwarfs lose one fighter but still hold up.

This side of the battlefield is cleary under the domination of the Wood Elves:

While the Dwarfs tends to win on this side:
