The Battle of East-Loren - Turn 7

Dwarf - Turn 7

Willing to slay more Wood Elves, Skrag The Slaughterer charges the second unit of Warrior Kinbands:

The skirmishing Crosswbowmen cross the river to support the left Dwarven flank in difficulty.

The other unit of Crossbowmen shoot at the Glade Runners but miss their targets.

In hand-to-hand combat, Skrag causes only one wound to an Elf but his armour absorbs the impact.

The beasts and their handlers kill two more Longbeards:

On the other side of the battlefield, the Thunderers are pretty good at using hand weapons instead of their favourite weapons, they kill three warhounds without sustaining any loss. Next to them, the Norse Dwarfs inflict one wound to a bear.

The fight between the Elven Lords and the Ironbreakers turns into the advantage of the Wood Elves: two Dwarf elite warriors are slain.

... and a few seconds after that, a twiste of fate strikes the Dwarf Army: Glam the Wardancer uses his deadly special skills to find a chink in King Brokk' armour. Two of his attacks wound the Dwarf General. Brokk collapses to the ground, dead...

Realizing that their lord has been killed, the Dwarf warriors let out a primal scream, both of sadness and rage. The Dwarfs swear that his death will be avenged and redouble their efforts.

Burlok "The Wise" casts a Fireball that kills a Lord's Bowman, leaving only the leader of the unit - Pelmir Hawkeye - alive.

The Grand Banner of Karak Norn casts a Lightning Bolt on Kroashk The Subtle but the spell fails to injure the Zoat.

Prince Ulther's Dragon Company will certainly be charged by the Wood Elf heroes soon... But anyway, the result of the battle on this side of the field is still uncertain. If Skrag gets quickly rid of the Wood Elves surrounding him, he would certainly be a good match for Filendil Ravencrest and Valmor Longstride.

The same is true for the other side of the battlefield: none can predict who will win the battle.

Wood Elf - Turn 7

On the battlefields, several Wood Elf heroes have won their respective fights and engage now new enemy units.

Filendil Ravencrest and Valmor Longstride charge the Dragon Company in the flank:

Glam and Kroashk The Subtle charge the Hammerers:

While Ralgaliel Shadowsong fly over the fight at high speed:

The other eagle rider, Sirwing Feathermoon, shoots at the Thunderers, but miss the target.

Only the Guards manage to kill an opponent (a Crossbowman) during this shooting phase:

Still routing and pursued by wild cats and boars, the Longbeards sustain (only) one loss. This side of the battlefield is now under the Wood Elves control.

Skrag The Slaughterer is completely surrounded by the Warrior Kinbands. He manages to kill (only) one of them but, in return he's wounded by one of those hitting him in the back.

Three warriors of the Dragon Company are killed by the two Wood Elf heroes:

And the Zoat wizard kills one of the bodyguards of the Dwarf King:

A few yards away, the bears and their Beasmaster inflict one loss to the Norse Dwarf Unit.

But the victim is avenged by the Thunderers: they kill one of the beasts. And the other one and the handler rout! The Dwarfs hack them in the back and kill them both. If they survive the battle, these riflemen will certainly be highly honoured by their brethren and maybe they will be aligned as hand-to-hand units the next battle...

Down the hill, Sirwendil Silverhead - the Elf General - looks anxiously at his troops being slain by the Dwarfs. While being distracted, he is wounded by Durgrom Korganson, the Ironbreakers leader. Worst, he and his two remaining comrades - Dolfar Redleaf, the Army standard bearer, and Lorindel Whistlewind the wizard - fail to wound the Dwarven shock troops.

During the magic phase, none of the Elven wizards is able to cast spells. Lorindel Whistlewind and Kroashk The Subtle are engaged in hand-to-hand combat. And Imraina Moonhand and Ralgaliel Shadowsong fail to cast due to their low magical energy.
