Shadowrun

Here's something new, not related to Warhammer at all: miniatures for the Shadowrun role playing game (version 6). I'm mastering this game for a several months now and I needed some miniatures to represent the PCs in the party. However, there are not a lot of minis on the market for this game. Some were produced by Ral Partha a long time ago, but I don't like them and the range is limited. More recently, some manufacturers such as Papsikels have produced some Cyberpunk/Shadowrun miniatures but the range is limited too and is missing miniatures for some classes of characters and races (see below why).

Shadowrun is similar to Cyberpunk, the action also takes place in an alternate (dark) future in which megacorporations are leading the world and the players are some kind of outlaws hired for dangerous and illegal missions to earn some cash in order to survive. You can play a street fighter (a solo in Cyberpunk / a street samurai in Shadowrun), a fixer (or face in Shadowrun), a netrunner (or decker), etc. In addition, in Shadowrun, you can play spellcasters such as a mage or a shaman, and finally you can be a Human, an Elf, an Ork, a Troll or a Dwarf... Note that Trolls and Orks have not an "evil alignment"in this game. They are simply subtypes of Humans or 'Metahumans'.

Other paranormal races have also emerged with the awakening of magic: dragons, ghouls, vampires, banshees, sasquatches, were-creatures and a lot more.

So many possibilities... That's the reason why I have designed my own miniatures on HeroForge and they were 3D printed by a member of the party playing this game with me. This is actually a good alternative. There are a lot of themes (fantasy, modern, sci-fi, far west) on HeroForge, allowing you to create almost any type of miniature and give them the shape and the pose you want. The only issue, I would say, is that they are less realistic than what you could expect, they are quite "comic-style". But anyway, they do the job very well.

 The party includes:

- Alejandro Mosquera (aka 'Angel Beltràn'), an Elf face (i.e. fixer).

- Harun Mensah (aka 'Smasher'), a Troll street samurai.

- Kessy Delacour (aka 'Disk'), a Human technomancer (a kind of netrunner/decker).

- Minerva Lock (aka 'Oxymar'), a Human physical adept (a fighter with supernatural powers).

- Jaroslaw Sokoloff (aka 'Nuke'), a Dwarf rigger (a pilot directly connected to his vehicles or drones to pilot them with his mind).

- Cailean Aitken (aka 'Wyrm'), an Elf shaman (totem: snake). This guy can cast spells to protect/heal the party and to destroy their enemies. He can also summon powerful spirits that will fight along the party.
