Daemons !!!
As I needed Daemons of Khorne and Slaanesh for my next WFRP game, this was a good opportunity to paint them.
This blog is about my hobby: collecting and painting miniatures (mainly fantasy) and playing epic Warhammer battles (mainly 3rd edition). The blog's name is a contraction of Old Metal (lead miniatures referring to Oldhammer) and the famous song 'Metal Militia' from Metallica (yes, I'm a great fan of Metal music).
I own these miniatures for a looooong time and have often used them in Warhammer FRP scenarios as civilians / brigands.
But never managed to paint them, this is a shame.
Now the prejudice is settled, here they are with paint on them.
Witch Elves ! Another Dark Elves unit for my WFRP Norsca campaign. My players are going to face them in the next episode. I hope they will fight with fury and last a few rounds.
These are a mix of recent minis and some from the Marauder era (I guess).
Another group of Dark Elves. In my WFRP Norsca campaign, I have used them as assassins. In WFB 3rd ed. rules, they can act as Shadows or Assassins.
This is also a mix of minis from different eras. The one in the middle... I have it from quite some time but cannot figure out where I got it from...
The second Dark Elves unit: crossbowmen. Also recent plastic miniatures that I've bought from Ebay. Unfortunately, the leader had his helmet a bit damaged. Let's say he has been hit in hand to hand contact.
Long time no post... But I have an excuse: I was mass painting several units of Dark Elves at the same time, a total of 59 miniatures. I needed to have painted Dark Elves for my WFRP Norsca campaign.
Most of them are plastic minis from recent editions.
Below you'll find the first unit, warriors with halberds, and some heroes (the female is a plastic mini from Reapers Miniatures).
Wielding the Sword of Justice in battle, Ludwig Schwarzhelm is the Emperor's champion and bearer of the Emperor's Great Banner. This miniature is the first version sculpted for the 4th edition. To be fair, the new version of this model is amazing, I'll probably try to get one to paint it.
"Among the Empire's most-storied regiments, the Carroburg Schwertspieler (or Greatswords) have earned their bloody reputation by slaying all comers in defence of their home city. Their fame dates back to the Age of Three Emperors. In 1865 IC, they successfully defended the city of Carroburg, then under the control of Reikland, from the count of Middenland. Throughout the course of the battle, their white uniforms were stained red with blood. Since then, they have worn crimson uniforms in remembrance of that day."
